Craft Pride, the first craft beer bar in Austin to focus on Texas-only brews. The bar opened in February 2013 and was a unique concept, incorporating regional and local inspiration into everything from the menu, décor and design of the space. Being located on Rainey Street, a burgeoning area known for its similarly designed bungalow style bars, setting Craft Pride apart was imperative, beginning from our initial strategy. Cultivate planned and facilitated the media launch, bringing in food and beverage writers as well as beer bloggers and influencers. This helped spread the word for the concept, while securing early coverage on Eater helped book events heading into SXSW directly following opening.
What We Did
Positioning husband and wife co-owners JT and Brandy Egli as experts for both business and beer pitching, we were additionally able to utilize assistant manager and on-staff Cicerone Tre Miner as an expert for pitching both locally and nationally, and promoted his regular guided beer flight nights. Miner was notably featured as an expert in national culinary online publication Serious Eats’ recurring “Ask a Cicerone” column.
